DID YOU KNOW….

Before filming began on the 1960 western #TheUnforgiven director #JohnHuston & leading man #BurtLancaster took actress #LillianGish who would portray his mother ‘Matilda’ in the feature, out to the desert to teach her how to shoot, which she would have to do in the movie.

However, John Huston was surprised to discover that Lillian could shoot faster & more accurately than both he & Lancaster who thought of themselves as expert marksmen. It turned out that earlier in her career Lillian was taught how to shoot by the notorious gunfighter #AlJennings, who had become an actor after his release from a long prison sentence for train robbery & would go on to co-Star in 1 of the movies featuring Gish. She found that she enjoyed shooting & had grown into an expert shot over the years.

A Texas grocery store has introduced the state's first ammunition vending machine, located at Lowe’s Market in Canyon Lake. Installed by American Rounds, the machine features advanced security measures, including state-of-the-art ID scanners and facial recognition, ensuring only legal purchasers can access ammunition. The machine is part of a broader rollout, with similar kiosks already in place in Alabama, Oklahoma, and soon in Colorado. Despite concerns about safety, American Rounds CEO Grant Magers emphasizes that the machines are secure and data collected is protected. Magers asserts this innovation maintains the integrity of the Second Amendment while reducing retail sales errors.

Möchte nicht wissen, was da mancher so an Rentenschecks transportiert.

If you'd like to consider a shorter rifle barrel, but are worried about losing too much performance, run the math.
In the case of a 308 Win, every 4" of barrel length is approximately 100 fps, which only changes your hit percentage on an IPSC silhouette by 2 or 3% at 1000 yards. Of course, the fps per inch of barrel is greater with shorter barrels, and different for each cartridge/bullet, etc. Point being the actual effect of barrel length to hit percentage might be less than you think.
If you cut from 30" to 15", sure they'll be a significant performance reduction. But if you're worried about 24" vs 20", you probably won't notice much difference in hit percentage.
