Neben dem Museum ist das malerische Saumur selbst auch einen Besuch wert und liegt an der Loire Zunächst kurz etwas zu dem Museum und den Ausstellungsstücken. Das Museum selbst beschränkt sich fast vollständig auf Panzer. Wer nebenbei noch Handwaffen oder Uniformen ( wie z.B. in der WTS oder in Munster) anschauen will ist hier falsch. An Panzern ist aber ein wirklich guter mehr als sehenswerter Rundumschlag vorhanden. Sagen wir es anders: Der Bestand ist genial ! Bei den historischen Exponaten (WKII-Deutsch,...) ist den Restauratoren ein Lob auszustellen. Die jüngeren Jahrgänge und die weniger raren Stücke (z.B. Sherman, T55 etc.) sind Klasse was Zustand und Originalzustand betrifft ! Absolut sehenswert ! Anbei zum Museum befindet sich noch ein kleiner Buch und Modellshop der aber nicht mal ansatzweise mit der Auswahl des bei der WTS ansässigen Buchgeschäfts zu vergleichen ist. Btw: Auch bei dem Maultier konnte man sehr anschaulich sehen, dass es Kriegsstücke sind. Vergessen sollte man aber auch nicht, dass von den Allierten oft für die "Heimatpresse" auf liegengebliebene Beutefahrzeuge geschossen würde. Macht sich auf Fotos einfach besser zuhause....
